Debt
Debt is something everyone will experience in their lifetime to different and varying degrees. There's good debt (like a mortgage) and bad debt (like credit card debt), and it's easy to get bogged down in it.
How Did This Happen?
You might start out vowing to use your credit cards only in an emergency, and then you lose your job, so you start using your credit cards for everyday things that you used to pay cash for. Things are okay, but not great, and then your unemployment runs out. Still okay, but then your severance pay (if you got any) runs out, and the car breaks down. Suddenly your credit card bill is more than you can handle, and you feel like you're being sucked in to a whirlpool of debt.
How Can I Get Help?
You've probably already cut back as much as you can, and by now your family is getting pretty tired of Ramen noodles, fish sticks and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. First, try getting work through a temp agency while you are trying to find a new full time job. Also, on the days when you are not working, surf the Internet. There are hundreds of companies out there ready with debt relief solutions. For example, if you aren't in a position to pay off an additional loan, debt consolidation may be the lifeboat that saves you from the rip current of debt.
Sea of Debt exists to educate you about debt and all its works and ways, as well as debt management tips and what to look for when choosing a debt management company.
